I also hated the line shading on the characters eyes in every scene, but that’s just a personal preference). The scene at the docks towards the end of the season as well as the attack on Marley were great, but I don’t think they can compare to other seasons in terms of animation (MAPPA did great, but I thought the ODM use and fighting in previous seasons was better. I felt the fights were shorter and had more talking and strategy, than actual fights. I felt some of the info in the last seasons were clarified a bit better, but I’ll probably just end up rereading the manga to fix this. We have so many new characters and information thrown at us at once. I always enjoyed the show and it will remain as my favorite anime, but I think I prefer season three much more than season 4.įirst, most of my issues come from the story itself. I’m really conflicted after watching this season for multiple reasons.
